Our Church

Our local church is St Peter & St Paul, Heytesbury.

It has a rich history and dates back to Saxon times. It was a collegiate church which is effectively a “mother church” with resident priests . It survived the Reformation and then many years later, in 1765, it sheltered many of Heytesbury’s inhabitants during a disastrous fire that destroyed most of the village. In 1867, a great Victorian architect, William Butterfield not only restored the nave, but also created a striking decorative scheme in the chancel.

We have strong links with St Peter & St Paul Church, the Church Warden and their congregation. We visit the Church throughout the year to worship, to learn and to come together to celebrate.
